NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO A VALIANT HEART No. 00067/17-09/RDPF-KUMZSE/ADN-2025.

VOTE FOR CANDIDATE, PRESIDENT BELLO BOUBA MAÏGARI FOR A SALARY, A KEY LEVER AGAINST POVERTY: A COMMITMENT FOR A DIGNIFIED AND PROSPEROUS CAMEROON.

The salary is the primary compensation for work done; it must allow every worker to cover their essential needs and live with dignity. Today in Cameroon, the Guaranteed Interprofessional Minimum Wage (SMIG) is set at 44,000 FCFA—a sum far below the real needs of a single person, which amount to about 70,000 FCFA per month when considering transportation, food, rent, basic necessities, and unexpected expenses. This gap between salary and the cost of living seriously weakens purchasing power, deepens poverty, and fuels social tensions and food insecurity.

To ensure a fair salary, it is essential to index it to inflation and the real cost of living. This would allow wages to automatically follow price increases and prevent a gradual loss of purchasing power. Yet wage stagnation alongside rising prices is currently causing a general decline in living standards.

But raising the minimum wage alone is not enough: action is also needed to control inflation and the cost of consumer goods. That is why it is urgent to implement strong public policies:

Regularly reevaluate the SMIG according to real inflation.

Control inflation through appropriate economic measures to stabilize prices.

Subsidize basic necessities—rice, oil, soap—to lighten household expenses.

Actively support a massive and sustainable national agricultural production, ensuring supply far exceeds demand; more local products mean less reliance on costly imports, better price stability, and greater accessibility for all.

Candidate President Bello Bouba Maïgari’s program builds on these levers through an ambitious economic plan exceeding 60,000 billion FCFA. It aims to strengthen infrastructure, human capital, and the local economy. This plan will create conditions for decent salaries, strong local production, and a lasting reduction in the cost of living.

A salary must enable a dignified life, but today 44,000 FCFA does not cover the real needs—estimated at 70,000 FCFA for a single person. This gap weakens purchasing power and fuels poverty.

For wages to truly follow living costs, they must be indexed to inflation with regular increases. But this alone is not enough: we must also fight the high cost of living by boosting national agricultural production so that supply of basic goods far exceeds demand. More local products mean fewer costly imports, more stable prices, and better access for everyone.

Subsidizing essentials, encouraging local production, and controlling inflation are key levers to protect purchasing power. Bello Bouba Maïgari’s program, with an economic plan of over 60,000 billion FCFA, intends to heavily invest in these sectors to guarantee a better quality of life.

Citizens, the time has come to decide our future. Real change means dignified salaries, strengthened purchasing power, and a thriving local production that frees us from the chains of poverty. Together, with Bello Bouba Maïgari’s ambitious program,we can build a Cameroon where everyone works, lives, and progresses in dignity. Let us not remain spectators of our destiny but become actors in this peaceful and lasting transformation.

“For a Proud and Prosperous Cameroon, Together Let’s Reveal Our Strength!”

Fraternally Yours,
