*OFFICIAL STATEMENT*  

Focus on job creation, infrastructure development, and support for SMEs in Cameroon  


Under the firm leadership of President Bello Bouba MAÏGARI, Cameroon is implementing an ambitious strategy to stimulate sustainable job creation, modernize key infrastructures, and strengthen Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), true engines of national economic growth.  


With the establishment of the Employment Agency for Prospecting and Placement (AEPP), the Observatory of Executive Jobs, and the forthcoming Employment Agency for Professional Training (AEFP), the country is enhancing the technical skills of its youth. This Agency will ensure certified professional training, in partnership with the Ministry of Professional Training and the Cameroon Chamber of Industry, aiming to guarantee real professionalism and combat unqualified technicians.  


*1. Sectoral priorities for the next 5 years*  

- Agriculture & Agro-industry: Modernizing cocoa, coffee, maize sectors and agro-food processing, creating thousands of rural jobs.  

- ICT: Developing digital services, e-commerce, cybersecurity to boost youth employment and digital economy growth.  

- Construction and Public Works (BTP): Major infrastructure projects to drive growth and job creation.  

- Renewable Energies: Solar, hydraulic, and biomass projects to support energy transition and green jobs.  

- Health: Strengthening hospital infrastructure and qualified employment.  

- Tourism and Hospitality: Promoting ecotourism and local opportunities.  

- Finance & Banking: Supporting economic inclusion and employment in financial services.  

- Green Economy: Promoting sustainable activities like recycling, organic farming, and responsible forest management.  


*2. Concrete perspectives and actions (2025-2030)*  

- Short term (1 year): Enhanced support to SMEs through certified training, simplified administration, technical assistance.  

- Medium term (2-3 years): Large public investments in infrastructure, digitalization, and innovation centers.  

- Long term (4-5 years): Implementation of sustainable energy projects, strengthening economic sectors, and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems.  


*3. Innovative financing solutions*  

- Public-private funds dedicated to SMEs and startups with favorable conditions.  

- Facilitated bank credit access for young entrepreneurs with guarantees and attractive rates.  

- Tax incentives for job-creating companies.  

- Strengthened international partnerships.  

- Microfinance and rural cooperatives to boost economic inclusion.  


*4. National objectives*  

- Create decent, sustainable jobs to reduce poverty and inequality.  

- Build a diversified, resilient, and competitive economy.  

- Offer youth strong prospects in both innovative and traditional sectors.
