In Cameroon, despite numerous trials and challenges posed by the ruling party, a new wind is blowing thanks to the determination of a man of faith and conviction: President Issa Tchirouma BAKARY. This sincere commitment springs from profound humility, a core value taught by Islam, reminding us that “Whoever humbles himself before Allah will receive His mercy” (Surah An-Nur, 24:35).
The Douala group for change, aware of the need for unity and solidarity, chose President Issa Tchirouma BAKARY. Beyond that, he courageously and responsibly decided to support President Bello Bouba MAÏGARI as the sole candidate of the democratic opposition. This is the strength of the process: *if he chooses to support President Bello Bouba MAÏGARI, then the change and victory of the Opposition become irreversible.*
This choice is not simply a political alliance but a profound desire to turn the page on division and sterile quarrels and to build together a new Cameroon, united in peace and justice. As the Quran says: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided” (Surah Al-Imran, 3:103). Our future depends on this sacred unity.
President Issa Tchirouma BAKARY, a humble man, has never been Prime Minister nor Minister of State. His journey illustrates the power of sincere repentance and the ability to question oneself, as he himself declared his wish to repent for past mistakes made against the Cameroonian people. Such humility is the key to true leadership dedicated to serving the nation.
Today, all Cameroonians aspire for real, tangible, and lasting change. This aspiration can only be achieved through a united, strong, and coherent Opposition, with President Bello Bouba MAÏGARI as its flagbearer, chosen and supported by a man of honor, Mr. Issa Tchirouma BAKARY.
