TRANSPARENCY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE: A NEW RENEWAL.
For over forty-three years, transparency and good governance have remained major challenges for Cameroon. Despite many speeches and slogans, often focused on Rigor, Moralization, and Discipline, these principles have too often been empty words, allowing mistrust, corruption, and opaque management of public resources to persist. This long period has weakened citizens’ confidence in their institutions, slowed real development, and hindered national growth.
In Cameroon, transparency means clear, easy, and complete access to information on public decisions, rigorous disclosure of contracts, licenses, and beneficial owners, especially in strategic sectors. It also involves open and accessible budgeting processes. Good governance is built on strict and fair respect for the rule of law, constant accountability of institutions and their leaders, active participation of citizens and civil society in public decisions, and a determined fight against corruption and abusive practices.
The candidate, President Bello Bouba Maïgari, proposes to break once and for all with this past of inefficiency by placing Discipline, Moralization, and Rigor (DMR) at the core of his political action. Driven by an unyielding Will, hard Work, and constant pursuit of Success (VTR), he commits to restoring citizens’ trust by making transparency an inviolable principle. Every public decision will be clear, accessible to all, and strictly accountable.
To achieve this, he will strengthen control mechanisms, ensure fair and non-discriminatory application of laws, and encourage full involvement of citizens and civil society in defining, monitoring, and evaluating public policies. With DMR supported by VTR, President Bello Bouba Maïgari aims to build a new Cameroon where good governance ceases to be an empty slogan and becomes a tangible reality. This Cameroon will be founded on rigorous, ethical, transparent management that respects everyone’s rights, ensuring citizens’ well-being, responsible resource mobilization, and sustainable, inclusive development.
