However, after 43 years in power, the pooling of human, financial, and natural resources, the development of agro-industry, social protection, and the project of a national currency have not yet brought about the expected transformation: persistent poverty, youth seeking opportunities, brain drain, lack of industrialization, and centralized governance.
This raises the need to question the relevance of continuing with this model and to consider opening a new political cycle.

For example, increasing the price of beer from 650 FCFA to 1,000 FCFA (an extra 350 FCFA per bottle on 20 million bottles a day) would generate about 2,520 billion FCFA annually—enough to fund pensions, maternity allowances, and youth unemployment benefits.
