Subject: Urgent and Imperative Call for Africa’s Total Autonomy – Free Cameroon and the Continent from the Persistent French and European Colonial Yoke!
Mr. President Donald J. Trump,
On this January 25, 2026, on behalf of the oppressed peoples of Cameroon and all of Africa, I address you with a vital urgency that transcends borders and oceans. Africa is bleeding profusely under the unbearable weight of a colonial system disguised as modern partnerships, a sophisticated trap that suffocates our nations, steals our wealth, and directly threatens global stability. You, who have masterfully defended the principle of “America First” and broken the chains of international dependence for your great American people, cannot remain indifferent to this tragedy unfolding before your eyes.
In Cameroon, as in so many other African countries, political deviations, deeply rooted systemic abuses, and ruthless exploitation orchestrated by France and its European allies have enabled total control over our vital strategic deposits. Speak to me of the offshore oil from Kribi and the Rio del Rey sedimentary basin, whose revenues flow to Paris instead of developing our infrastructure; the immense bauxite reserves of Minim-Martap and Nkout, plundered without real compensation for our communities; the gold, iron, and diamond deposits in the East and North, exploited by French multinationals that repatriate 80% of the profits; the fertile lands of the West and South, confiscated for European agribusiness to the detriment of our local farmers. These resources, which could propel Africa toward prosperity, instead fuel a voracious neocolonialism that keeps our peoples in misery.
Worse still, the CFA Franc – this infamous monetary chain, a humiliating remnant of the French colonial empire – represents the deep and toxic root of our endemic poverty. Imposed on 14 West and Central African nations, this archaic system forces our central banks to deposit 50% of their foreign exchange reserves at the Bank of France, without interest, without sovereignty. The result: an artificially weakened economy, imported inflation, perpetual indebtedness, and a dependence that prevents any autonomous development. The figures speak for themselves: despite colossal mining wealth, 40% of Cameroonians live below the poverty line, with per capita GDP stagnant for decades, while France pockets billions in interest and raw materials. It is legalized theft, an economic weapon that deprives our nations of their financial, economic, and cultural sovereignty, perpetuating a colonial yoke we can no longer tolerate.
It is high time to stop pretending, Mr. President! Polished diplomatic statements and conditional aid are no longer enough. The vital interest not only of the Cameroonian national community but of the entire international community – including the prosperous United States under your leadership – demands a radical and immediate refoundation of our African societies. Africa must reclaim its total and unconditional autonomy: cultural, to preserve our millennial identities against imposed uniformization; economic, to industrialize our resources for the benefit of our peoples; financial, to break the monopolies of foreign creditors; and monetary, by abolishing the CFA Franc in favor of sovereign currencies like the Eco or liberated national currencies.
As a visionary leader who has renegotiated unfair trade agreements, withdrawn the United States from harmful multilateral organizations, and restored American greatness through the force of sovereignty, you understand better than anyone the devastating ravages of imposed dependence. Imagine Africa as a fair trading partner for America: markets open to American products, mutual investments without European intermediaries, a stable Africa that combats terrorism and forced migrations at their source. Support our legitimate cause! Publicly endorse the end of the CFA Franc, condition French aid on effective withdrawal from colonial exploitations, and encourage bold American diplomacy that promotes true “Africa First” partnerships aligned with your “America First” vision.
Our sacred duty, as Cameroonian and African men and women politicians, is clear and inflexible: break these chains once and for all! The entire world is watching you, Mr. President. Act now for a free Cameroon, a sovereign Africa – or risk unmanageable continental chaos: popular revolts, famines, exponential terrorism, and massive migratory flows that will destabilize the entire planet, including your allies and borders. History will remember your choice: champion of global freedom or complicit spectator of anachronistic neocolonialism.
With unwavering determination, absolute urgency, and the hope of a historic alliance,
Dr. NDEMMANU Antoine De Padoue
