Trop nombreux sont ceux qui préfèrent la critique distante, souvent depuis l’étranger, au lieu de s’impliquer concrètement. L’exemple de Bernard Njonga montre que l’engagement politique, le pouvoir de décision et l’action sur le terrain sont essentiels pour avancer.

Parmi vous, une force immense sommeille dans les universités camerounaises. Les universités d’État comptent plusieurs milliers de professeurs – près de 1 125 à Yaoundé I, 778 à Douala –, et en 2018 un recrutement spécial de 2 000 professeurs a souligné les besoins cruciaux. Avec plus de 430 universités privées, le potentiel intellectuel est vaste.

Côté étudiants, près de 500 000 inscrits en 2017-2018, soit une croissance spectaculaire depuis 2012 où ils étaient 222 000, représentent une jeunesse universitaire puissante, porteuse d’idées neuves et d’un dynamisme vital pour notre société.

Cette couche sociale, formée d’intellectuels engagés et d’étudiants nombreux, dispose d’une aisance et d’un impact déterminants pour conduire une transition sereine et porteuse d’avenir. Leur mobilisation est essentielle pour accompagner le changement démocratique qui s’annonce avec le Président Bello Bouba MAÏGARI.

Le déficit d’engagement nourrit une fuite de responsabilité visible dans l’abstention massive. Voter est un devoir citoyen. Attendre un « messie » ou rejeter la diversité politique freine notre démocratie. Il est temps d’élever le débat au-delà des querelles identitaires et des jeux personnels, au service véritable du Cameroun.

There is no lower education, there can be no higher education; our educational system is structured around basic education, secondary education, and university education — thus forming the Cameroonian Academy.

It is urgent to overcome the current engagement deficit, especially from some intellectuals. Too many prefer distant criticism, often from abroad, instead of concretely involving themselves. Among you, a tremendous force lies within Cameroonian universities. The state universities count several thousand professors — nearly 1,125 at Yaoundé I, 778 at Douala — and in 2018 a special hiring of 2,000 professors highlighted crucial needs. With more than 430 private universities, the intellectual potential is vast.

On the student side, nearly 500,000 enrolled in 2017-2018, a spectacular growth since 2012 when there were 222,000, represent a powerful university youth, bearing new ideas and vital dynamism for our society.

This social layer, made up of engaged intellectuals and numerous students, possesses the ease and impact necessary to lead a peaceful and promising transition. Their mobilization is essential to accompany the democratic change that is coming with President Bello Bouba MAÏGARI.

The engagement deficit feeds a painful responsibility escape visible in massive abstention. Voting is a civic duty. Waiting for a “messiah” or rejecting political diversity hinders our democracy. It is time to elevate the debate beyond identity quarrels and personal games, to the true service of Cameroon.

We launch a vibrant call: be engaged actors, bearers of solutions, builders of a new dynamic founded on responsibility, dialogue, and unity.

Chers frères, sœurs, chers compatriotes,

L’histoire nous apprend que nul n’est éternel au pouvoir. Le temps de Dieu est souverain, le maître des maîtres, et rien ni personne n’y échappe. Le feu dictateur Mobutu, malgré toute sa puissance, termina humilié, seul et exilé. Beaucoup croyaient être au-dessus des lois terrestres et divines, hélas, ils ne sont que des souvenirs douloureux.

Chez nous, le Cameroun, la mémoire de héros comme le feu Premier Ministre André-Marie Mbida, et les martyrs qui ont sacrifié leur vie pour notre dignité, nous rappelle que l’homme propose, mais Dieu dispose.

Le Président Paul Biya, à plus de 92 ans, est lui aussi soumis au temps et à la justice divine. Il a reçu son pouvoir comme un don sacré de feu Ahmadou Ahidjo, à qui il a refusé un hommage national digne — un signe d’une haine profonde qui dépasse la politique et touche notre histoire et nos valeurs spirituelles.

Le pouvoir est un passage éphémère. Ceux qui se croient dieux vivants se trompent lourdement. Ce qui reste, c’est le respect, la justice, l’unité, et la mémoire collective.

On naît avec rien, on repart avec rien. Ce que nous pouvons vraiment garder, c’est l’amour, l’humilité, le dévouement, la solidarité, le sens du partage. Ces valeurs sont notre vrai héritage, plus fort que les pouvoirs ou richesses.

Le destin du feu Pharaon, de Mobutu, et les enseignements de notre histoire sont là pour nous avertir: la colère divine est bien réelle, et nul ne peut y échapper.

Peuple camerounais, le choix du 12 octobre 2025 est décisif. Ce n’est pas qu’un simple vote, c’est une prise de conscience collective. Votons pour la paix, la justice, l’unité. Votons pour le changement réel incarné par le Président Bello Bouba Maïgari, un espoir du nouveau du renouveau sincère.

History teaches us that no one is eternal in power. The time of God is sovereign, master of all masters, and nothing and no one can escape it. The late dictator Mobutu, despite his unquestioned power, ended humiliated, exiled, and alone. Many believed they were above human and divine laws, yet they became only painful memories.

Here in Cameroon, our history holds the memory of heroes like the late Prime Minister André-Marie Mbida, who fought for the freedom and dignity of our people, as well as the martyrs who gave their lives for our nation. To forget this past is to ignore that man proposes, but God disposes.

President Paul Biya, now over 92 years old, remains subject to time and divine will. He received power as a sacred gift from the late Ahmadou Ahidjo but refused to give him a proper national tribute—a sign of hatred that goes beyond politics to touch the intimate core of our history and spirituality.

Power is but a temporary passage. Those who believe themselves living gods are gravely mistaken. What endures is respect, justice, and collective memory.

We come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing. What we truly keep from our passage on earth is love, humility, devotion, solidarity, and a spirit of sharing. These values build a timeless legacy that transcends power and wealth.

The fate of the late Pharaoh, Mobutu, and the lessons of our history serve as warnings: divine wrath is real, and no one can escape it.

People of Cameroon, the choice on October 12, 2025, is critical. It is not just a vote but a collective awakening. Let us vote for peace, justice, and unity. Let us vote for real change embodied by President Bello Bouba Maïgari, a sincere hope for new of the renewal.
